I served churches in Royal Center, Kokomo, Dyer and Evansville prior to beginning my appointment at Grace UMC. I am a proud father of three adult daughters, Jamie, Josie and Jenna, and of two grandsons, William and Raulin. I am a lifelong Notre Dame fan so living in South Bend has been somewhat magical for me. But even more important is the joy of serving as the pastor of this loving and safe community of followers of Jesus. One of my favorite things about this community is the diversity in social and theological perspectives, coupled with our unique ability and desire to love our neighbors and one another. I am grateful and honored to be the pastor of this church.

There is nothing better than taking communion with the grass under your feet and the birds chirping.

I have several years of experience in church communications, both professionally and on a volunteer basis. I love sharing the message, stories, and mission of the church with others through technology. For my “day job,” I work at the Nappanee Boys & Girls Club as the Program Manager. When I’m not working, I enjoy crocheting, reading, spending time with my family, and attending as many ND football games as possible!

VISUAL & AUDIO TECH
My name is Hannah Easterbrook and I have been attending Grace UMC for 12 years.
My favorite thing about Grace is how willing our church members are to help when someone else is in need. My day job is a Kindergarten Aide at Clay International Academy. In my free time, I love reading, crocheting, and spending time with my cats.

VISUAL & AUDIO TECH
My name is Melissa Schmok. I am a sophomore at Riley High School and have been working at Grace as the media technician for almost 2 years. I enjoy playing soccer, tennis, and my saxophone for the Riley Band. My favorite thing about Grace is the wonderful musical capabilities of our congregation.

I’m thankful that Grace has had a youth group that my children were a part of, and had made lasting friendships. I like that Grace has folks with a great sense of humor like Bill White, Pastor Jim, and Chuck Moore. It’s a pleasure to be around these people, and the congregation in general for the past 9 years.

I work at St Joseph County Correctional Facility as a Receptionist full time and have been working in the nursery at Grace UMC since 2009.

Hi I am Amy Seese and I am a Nursery Assistant here at Grace United Methodist Church. I have been in this role since early 2012.
My full time job I am a Payroll Administrator/HR Generalist at a local HVAC company.
Outside of work I like to be outside enjoying the sun. I love to cook and bake and of course shop.

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS
I have been a part of the Grace UMC family since the early 1980's and have been employed here for the past 17 years. One of my favorite things about Grace UMC is the sense of community. Whether it be worship, fellowship or an outreach event, Grace comes together with love and compassion.

DIRECTOR OF RAGGEDY ANN PRESCHOOL
I have been with Raggedy Ann Preschool for 6 years. My favorite thing about Grace UMC is its heart. The people understand the assignment- to uplift, support, and help others. I love that there are so many members with many talents and gifts that roll up their sleeves and dive in to do God's work.

I am delighted to be joining the Raggedy Ann team this year for my first year teaching preschool. While my previous teaching experience has been at the elementary level, I have found my transition to the preschool setting to be very rewarding. It’s such a privilege to help establish the earliest foundation of education. There is no greater joy than seeing the world through the eyes of a child. I’m already loving my time here and feel so welcomed by the entire Grace family.

RAGGEDY ANN PRESCHOOL TEACHER
I love the community Grace is building. That community spills into Raggedy Ann Preschool with donations, special readers, and music class. I love Raggedy Ann because we have the flexibility to change lesson plans for the needs of our students and work closely with families. I also get to be a big kid at playtime!

Hi! My name is Robert Athey, but my students know me as Mr. Robert. I’ve been part of the Raggedy Ann Preschool family for three years, starting out as a substitute teacher and now working as both a teacher and aide.
I’m married to my wonderful wife, Becky, and we have two amazing children, Oliver and Matilda (Tillie), both proud graduates of Raggedy Ann. These days, they attend Marshall Traditional Elementary School in South Bend, where I’m also active in the PTO, helping plan fun events for the students.
When I’m not in the classroom, my hobbies tend to be creative outlets: painting, building models and dioramas, and cooking. I also love playing tabletop and video games, and diving into a good comic book series (or just a good book in general).
What I love most about Raggedy Ann Preschool is the incredible impact we make. It’s so rewarding to help lay the groundwork for a lifetime of learning and success!

RAGGEDY ANN PRESCHOOL TEACHER'S AIDE
My name is Josie Robinett. I recently graduated from LaVille High School and am currently studying Early Childhood Education and Human Services at Ivy Tech. I have been attending Grace UMC most of my life; it has become like a second home to me. One of my favorite things about working at Raggedy Ann Preschool is watching the kids grow and flourish.
